Insurer leads the way with flood cover

Zurich Financial Services Australia has today released the final details of its flood cover plan. After more than 12 months work Zurich becomes the first Australian insurer to automatically include flood coverage in its base wording.
"Zurich announced at the end of 2007 its intention to offer flood cover for commercial customers in 2008. We have delivered on our promise. We are pleased to see that parts of the industry have now taken up our challenge and working to solve the issue. Providing adequate flood cover isn't easy. If it was, the industry would not have so many issues with implementing it."said David Smith, Zurich Chief Executive.
Flood cover will be available to existing policy holders at renewal and to new customers from 4pm, 8 September 2008.
